Synthesis of A Nitrate-Selective Anion Exchange Resin

Abstract
The functional group of commercially available ion exchange resins is known to be NMe©ý, of which selectivity prefers SO©þ^(2-) ion to NO©ý^(-) ion. Based on the fact that SO©þ^(2-) ion occupies a larger space than NO©ý^(-) ion in the chemical compounds, a new ion exchange resin was developed by the use of NEt©ý and N(CH©üCH©üOH©ý)©ý as functional groups and subsequently determined the physicochemical properties of the newly developed ion exchange resin. As indicated at the results, the selectivity of this ion exchange resin preferred NO©ý^(-) ion to SO©þ^(2-) ion.
